Scholarships 2014
The Windham Endowment offers its own scholarship and administers
other scholarships. If you have an interest in contributing to an
existing scholarship fund, please visit our
donations page; if you might be
interested in establishing a new scholarship fund, please contact the
Windham Endowment's
President.
In 2012 and 2013, the Endowment distributed three scholarships each year. Please see our
scholarship history page
for information about the recipients in those years.
The Endowment would like to thank all the students who have submitted
applications for the six scholarships that are available in 2014. Only complete
applications submitted by the deadline (April 7) will be considered for these
awards. The selection process will be “blind” and recipients will be
notified by June 4, 2014. A full description of the Endowment's policies and
process for administering scholarships is available
here.
- The Windham Endowment Scholarship ($1,000) will be awarded to a student who has demonstrated significant involvement in community service.
- The Coish Family Scholarship ($1,000) will be awarded to a student at WHS who participated in sports and set an example of teamwork and sportsmanship.
- The Windham Women’s Business Connection – Carol A. Yennaco Scholarship ($1,000) will be awarded to a female student for her entrepreneurial spirit and service to community.
- The Timothy Skwiot Financial Services Scholarship ($500) will be awarded to a student at WHS who has shown through their course work and extra-curricular activities an interest in studying business at the college level.
- The Dr. Henry E. LaBranche Scholarship ($1,000) will be awarded to a student at WHS who is planning to study education in college. This scholarship and the collaborative effort to establish its creation honors Dr. LaBranche and his legacy to education.
- The Windham Visual Arts Scholarship ($500) will be awarded to a student at WHS who is planning to study art in college. Applicants will be expected to submit digital media containing a portfolio of work.
Note: The immediate family and grandchildren of current members of the Windham
Endowment's Board of Directors and Scholarship Selection Committee(s) are not
eligible for scholarships available through the Windham Endowment.
