Moeckel Pond
Project Goal: To permanently protect and restore 40 acres of wetlands and to renew one of New Hampshire's highest priority wildlife corridors by re-establishing Moeckel Pond while opening formerly private land for public recreation.
Details of the Project:
For the latest news, including, please see the
Friends of Moeckel Pond on Facebook. For an overview of the Endowment's role in the project, please see
our annual appeal letter.
Please consider making a donation to support this effort. Thank you!
Specifically, the Endowment's charge has been to provide Universal Access to the
pond as well as to supply items to improve the transition from the parking lot
to the water. Water access will be eased by the installation of an ADA-compliant
dock system which will have a kayak launch, fishing pier, and bench. Another
charge is to make the new site user-friendly, which includes providing benches,
signage, and life safety equipment for the area. To date, the Endowment has
disbursed over $28,000 to fund these needs.
Supporting the Moeckel Pond Project will allow us to continue our work in making
a difference to the recreational opportunities to our community as well as
provide environmental benefits for generations to come. Thank you for your
continued support.
