Schoodic, ME Storm
An autumn storm whipping up the waves highlights the rugged beauty of
the mid-Maine coastline. Its subtle colors and intense marks call
attention to the wildness of the crashing waves. Sally is best known for
her water scenes, particularly those of the northern New England
coastline.

Tidal Marsh
The juxtaposition of the honey-colored salt marsh grasses with the blue
of the water curling through the distance of the Great Bay conservation
area made for a soothing composition.

Spring Apple Trees
This view is from Sally's studio window in Loudon Ridge where, 50 years
ago, the land was a combination apple orchard and sheep pasture. Several
of the ancient trees still stand and bloom each year. She was inspired
to paint the roll of the valley and its soft spring colors, which made
the valley appear to come alive.

Winter Sun
Sally will often snowshoe and cross-country ski throughout the trails
and pastures that surround her home and studio where the sunsets are
dramatic and light up the snow with brilliant color. The artist's
homestead is at the top right corner of the composition.

Morning Shaker Village
Sally was a resident of Canterbury, New Hampshire, for 25 years. She
often felt inspired to paint the Meetinghouse and its surrounding
orchards and pasture. This painting is set at the bottom of Shaker Road
looking over the old stone wall and through the sugar maples early one
September morning.
