Windham Endowment Scholarship - 2012
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in 2012 to a graduating high school
senior residing in Windham who has demonstrated significant involvement in
community service. Academic achievement and participation in other
extracurricular activities may also be considered. The scholarship will
be awarded in late Spring and the funds will be disbursed after the successful
completion of the recipient's first semester of post-secondary
education.
The application for the scholarship will be available February 1 on this
website, at Nesmith Library, and in local high schools. It must be submitted to
the Windham Endowment by March 31.
Funding
In this first year, the Windham Endowment will fund the scholarship from
recent donations.
In the future, we hope to use income from the General Scholarship Fund
which was established in 2010 by a directed gift. This fund needs to
grow substantially, however, before it will endow the scholarship so
that it continues in perpetuity.
