"Crimes at the Castle" - Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre 2009
September 25, 2009
The mystery at Searles Castle is solved and the fictitious murderer has
been apprehended! Thanks to a sold-out crowd, author Anne Kelsey,
director Donna Tongue, and a host of our neighbors acting in this spoof
on local politics and community activities, the evening's entertainment
was intriguing as well as hilarious.
After the mystery was solved, the guests enjoyed a four-course meal
under the tent while they were serenaded by the Windham Flute Ensemble.
Old friends and new friends enjoyed conversations and laughed about the
play. Delicious desserts rounded out the meal.
After dinner, Stacey Bruzzese (Event Chair) and Dr. Henry LaBranche
spoke briefly about the work of the Windham Endowment and announced that
the very first recipient of the Endowment's Community Advancement Award
was the Windham Community Band. This very deserving organization was
recognized for their efforts in the community, as they give tirelessly
of their time and talents to help make Windham a richer, more fulfilling
community in which to live and work. David Howard accepted the award on
behalf of the Windham Community Band.
The Windham Endowment would like to thank all the generous sponsors,
donors, volunteers, organizations, and attendees who made this event possible.
There were articles on the event in the
Windham Independent
and in the
Pelham-Windham News,
and there is also an online album
of pictures available.
