Unmask the Magic
The Windham Endowment’s 4th annual fundraising dinner
was a huge success. Our first ever masquerade dinner dance,
held at Promises to Keep in Derry, delivered a
magical night of delicious food, drink, dancing and entertainment.
This year, music was provided by
Rico Barr & the Jump 'N' Jive Review.
This renowned band played swing, blues, Latin, and
pop from the 50s to the present. They had us on our feet dancing all
night long!
Our games of chance were busy with hosts Cheri Maw and Rex Norman at the
roulette table and Mike Morin from WZID hosting our blackjack table.
Tara Fitzgerald and Mark Wimmer each took home a $25 gift card to
Lucia’s Bodega as the winners of Best Mask. Our silent auction table and
gambling prizes provided wonderful winnings and great support for our
causes.
Unmask the Magic was not only fun, but it was for a good cause. All
proceeds from the event went to support our greatest local asset — our
town! As part of our support for Culture, Education, Recreation and the
Environment in Windham, proceeds from the event will benefit these
funds:
Moeckel Pond — The Endowment’s Environmental Subcommittee is working
with Friends of Moeckel Pond to restore Moeckel Pond and provide easy
access to the pond for all residents of Windham.
Windham Historic Commission Fund — This Fund supports the needs of
Searles School and Chapel; specifically, tonight’s proceeds will be
applied to the 2013 Capital Campaign effort.
Education Fund and The Recreation Fund — The Endowment has made many
gifts to the community during the last five years, details of which may
be found in this program.
We thank everyone who attended for their continued generous support.
Special thanks go to our Gold Sponsor,
Edward N. Herbert Associates,
and our Silver Sponsors,
